Senior Software Engineer - OTC
We're looking for strong programmers who thrive in a fast-paced environment!
At Gravity Team, a quantitative proprietary trading firm, we are on a mission to balance the supply and demand across crypto markets around the world. Join our community of innovators, problem solvers and owners who apply scientific discovery techniques to make crypto markets a better place for everyone.
We’re building a proprietary OTC trading platform from scratch—an internal desk mini-exchange for high-value, high-frequency trades executed with institutional precision.
Rust will power the initial system, prioritizing robustness, integration, automation, performance reliability, and uptime.
Over time, it will evolve into a full internal exchange with advanced routing, capital optimization, and execution logic.
This is a top engineering focus this year because it directly affects trading revenue and risk exposure.
What you will work on
Design and implement the backend of a proprietary OTC trading system in Rust.
Design and build web APIs to support system operations and internal interfaces.
Maintain and expand integrations with exchanges through custom APIs.
Develop monitoring, testing, and deployment automations to keep the platform resilient and scalable.
Optimize for performance and system uptime — small mistakes here = big financial impact.
Work independently and iterate fast in a low-bureaucracy, high-ownership environment.
Contribute to adjacent areas: capital allocation logic, payment processes, data pipelines.
What we expect
5–10+ years of experience in backend development (senior+ level).
Strong track record in deep-tech backend systems — especially in fintech, trading, payments, or crypto, gaming.
Hands-on knowledge of compiled languages, ideally Rust, or Go/C++ with the ability to pick up Rust fast. Java, C# also ok.
Experience building and maintaining real-time API-based systems.
Self-starter comfortable with ambiguous product definitions and driving execution independently. Business focused.
Understands high-stakes software environments: downtime or bugs = financial loss.
Nice to have
Has built or maintained OTC desks or financial trading infrastructure before.
Has worked in hedge funds, crypto exchanges, or payment processors (e.g., Decta, TransactPro, Luminor, 4finance, Tieto, etc).
AWS/DevOps familiarity — should be able to manage own deployments.
Experience with capital management, exchange APIs, or payment gateways.
Results in informatics/math olympiads or strong academic background in quantitative fields.
